Knowing We’ll Be On Our Way

People that I've met so far are so welcoming

And curious as to why we came to stay

Turn them down when they ask to go for coffee

Think it's odd when we don't come out to play

People from down south say Vancouver's wonderful

Beautiful city and the food there is so great

For some strange reason they all love Tim Hortons

Short drive just on up the interstate

I'm finding it just really hard just to settle down

In this gorgeous house that looks over the bay

It's hard to lay down roots when you're knowing

In a few short years we'll be on our way Beer and whiskey are nothing to write home

about But they don't stop me drinkin' way too late

Traffic's just like any other city Backed up all the way to Lionsgate

We don't know if we'll even get to stay here

I'm pretty old, so our points are not so high

We live and wait for some kind of pee or lottery

To lose and have to go back south, I'll cry
