Stagger Lee

I was standing on the corner when I heard my bulldog bark, he was barking at two men

that we're standing in the dark it was staggerly and billy lion two men who gambled late

staggerly through a seven and billy through an eight

Stagger Lee told Billy, "No, I can't go on like that.

You took all of my money and my brand new Stetson hat."

Stagger Lee went home, and he got his forty-fold Said, "I'm goin' up to go pay that debt I

owe"

Stagger Lee went to the ballroom

And he stood in that ballroom door

Said "nobody move" and he pulled his .44

Staggerly cried Billy, no please don't take my life, I got three little children and a

very pregnant wife.

Stagger Lee shot Billy, he shot that poor boy down, he shot him in the center of his

crown.
